Dr. Nhien-An Le-Khac

Lab Head

Dr. Nhien-An Le-Khac is an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science, UCD. He is currently the Programme Director of MSc programme in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation. He is also the co-founder of UCD-GNECB Postgraduate Certificate in fraud and e-crime investigation.

He obtained his PhD. in Computer Science from INP Grenoble, France. His research interest spans the area of Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, Adversarial Machine Learning, Knowledge Engineering, Explainable AI, Cloud Security and Privacy.

Dr. Aditya Kuppa

UCD External Lecturer

Dr. Aditya Kuppa is an external lecturer at the School of Computer Science, UCD, Ireland

Dr. Kuppa was a PhD candidate in the School of Computer Science, UCD, under the supervision of Dr. Le-Khac.
His research is focused on the Adversarial Attacks on Deep Learning models, Threat Intelligence and the Explainable Artificial Intelligence

Dr. Asanka Sayakkara

UCSC Lecturer

Dr. Asanka Sayakkara is a Lecturer of Computer Science in University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC), Sri Lanka. He was a PhD candidate in the School of Computer Science, UCD. He is also a lecturer in the School of Computing, University of Colombo.


He graduated from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka with his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. His PhD research topic evolves around forensics in IoT big data. .

Dr. Thanh Binh Le

Senior Data Scientist

Dr. Binh Thanh Le is currently a Senior Data Scientist in Legato Health, Ireland
He was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the School of Computer Science, University College Dublin. He got a Ph.D. (2016) and MSc (2012) in Computer Science from Myongji University, Korea.
Dr. Le’s research fields are machine learning and pattern recognition. He has worked in scalable data analytics, text mining, time series analytics, and on linking analysis in cybersecurity. He was working in EU – DG HOME CERBERUS project under the supervisor of Dr. Le-Khac.

Dr. Hung Ngo

TU Dublin Lecturer

Dr. Hung Ngo is a lecturer at the School of Management, TUDublin, Ireland.
Dr. Ngo was a PhD candidate in the School of Computer Science, UCD, under the supervision of Dr. Le-Khac. His PhD topic is about the knowledge map for big data.

His research is focused on natural language processing, knowledge management, and machine learning.

Dr. Saad Khalid Alabdulsalam

Cyber Risk Director

Dr. Alabdulsalam is a Cyber Risk Director in Saudi Arabi,

He was a PhD candidate in the School of Computer Science, UCD, under the supervision of Dr. Le-Khac.
His PhD research is focused on developing a Deep Learning-based model for Internet of Things security and forensics.

Dr. Mahmoud Said Elsayed

Senior Data Scientist

Dr. Mahmoud Said Elsayed is currently a Senior Data Scientist in The 3. He was Ph.D. candidate in the School of Computer Science, UCD, under the supervision of Dr. Jurcut and Dr. Le-Khac.
He received the B.E. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Zagazig University, Egypt in 2007, the M.E. degrees in Information Security from Nile University, Egypt, in 2018. He has worked for several years in the industry through Huawei and IBM Co. in area of Computer Network and Security. His research interests involve computer networks, network security and deep learning.

Dr. Manaz Kaleel

Former Postdoc

Dr. Manaz was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the School of Computer Science, University College Dublin. He got a Ph.D. (2020) in Computer Science , from University College Dublin.
Dr. Kaleel’s research fields are machine learning.
He was working in EU – DG HOME CERBERUS project under the supervision of Dr. Le-Khac.

Ranul Thantilage

PhD Candidate

Mr. Ranul D. Thantilage is a PhD candidate at The Insight Centre for Data Analytics, UCD working on a project of The Eastern Corridor Medical Engineering Centre, under the supervision of Prof. Kechadi and Dr. Le-Khac.

His research interests include digital forensics, cyber security, clinical data warehousing focusing on privacy, security and big data analytics.

Jack Nicholls

PhD Candidate

Mr. Jack Nicholls is a PhD candidate in the School of Computer Science, ML-Lab (https://www.ml-labs.ie/), UCD, under the supervision of Dr. Le-Khac.

His research is about the Deep Learning Approaches in Anomaly Detection in Cryptocurrency Money Laundering.

Hong-Hanh Nguyen-Le

PhD Candidate

Ms. Hong-Hanh Nguyen-Le is a PhD candidate in the ML-Labs (https://www.ml-labs.ie/), School of Computer Science, UCD, under the supervision of Dr. Le-Khac.
Her research focus on Enhancing the Robustness and Efficiency in Biometric Authentication Systems using Representation Learning and Fuzzy Signature Scheme.

His research is about the Autonomous Anomaly Detection in IoT Devices .

Quang-Tien Tran

PhD Candidate

Mr. Quang-Tien Tran is a PhD candidate in the ML-Labs (https://www.ml-labs.ie/), School of Computer Science, UCD, under the supervision of Prof. Bertolotto and Dr. Le-Khac.

His research focus on Deep Learning Models for the Robust Drift and Out-Of-Distribution Detection in Earth Observation applications.
